KPFA events:

<sum> 11.05.01 Jazz event was attended by 40 people

<sum> Hard Knock Radio program- Sup. Maxwell, K. Epps, H. Lewis

<sum> NEXT:

<sum> Marie- CFC needs group donation list for events, total bill $265, CFC members need to reimburse $100 Maurice and $165 PacBell

<sum> Maurice and Lynne will work with W. Harper to development Dec. KPFA event

 

PG&E events:

<sum> Rallies- 11.02.01 low turnout, no PG&E rep, demands ( shutdown plant and no expansion potrero) message we will be back

<sum> 11.09.01. music, dancing, 500-800pl, big media, same demands

<sum> 11.02.01 Air Districted approved PG&E credits for 1500 tons of nitrogen oxides (NOx) which from smog and cause respiratory problems

<sum> CBE, LEJ, and Advocates filed an appeal on 11.13.01, legal actions will happen for the next 3 months, with a public hearing in March 2002

<sum> NEXT:

<sum> CBE will send out sample letters of support for groups and indiv. To send in

<sum> Groups will ask City to join in filing an appeal

 

Marie Avery (base closure manager) meeting:

<sum> No CFC members has heard from her since our meeting on 10.26.01

<sum> She has not responded to CFC letter or phone calls

<sum> NEXT:

<sum> CBE will send CFC letter to Cassi at the Guardian

<sum> CBE will drop call to EPA about CFC letter

<sum> Advocates are writing letter to Avery about contracts

 

Clean-up activities:

<sum> Artist informed CFC about recent bins appearing, work going on late at night, and the trench in Parcel B getting larger

<sum> NEXT:

<sum> SF Bayview ask Mach :

1. What are the white containers behind Bldg #101?

2. Is this an emergency action? How many containers?

3. Why no notification?

<sum> CFC would like to get the supervisors involved

<sum> Julian will take pictures of the containers

 

Redevelopment Agency- Shipyard

<sum> Agency‚s request for qualifications for a consultant to work with CAC and the community is out

<sum> Goal is stated in the application as " develop a community benefits package for Shipyard"

<sum> $75,000 contract to develop plan which includes: employment, education, housing, arts, culture, open space, school, businesses , other(health)

<sum> Key dates:

1. ASAP, officially register

2. Nov 30, 9:30a pre-submission meeting, Dago Mary restaurant,

3. Dec. 5 any questions due to Redev. Agency

4. Dec. 14, 5pm Consultant applications due

5. Jan. 7, interviews, Jan 15. Selection

<sum> Work product: develop factsheets for community, work with CAC and community to define community benefits, illustrate other examples, draft initial report, hold public meetings, final document, workshop with Redev. Commissioners and public
