Thank you for all your email updates on this emergency. Obviously, this is very
regrettable, but my understanding from Nita is that eveything possible to
resolve the problem is underway. This is a MUNI project, and therefore MUNI's
contractor is responsible for taking the lead. Port engineering, maintenance,
and real estate staff have been on-site to facilitate access by MUNI, its
contractor, PUC, and have been advised to work with David Erickson to do
whatever is possible to salvage the open space area and plantings. My
understanding is that PUC diverted the sewage necessary to reduce impacts to the
creek as well as to enable the repair work.
If I hear of any further information, I will pass it along to you.
